Alauddin Al-Haskafi, in his work titled "Durri'l Mukhtar", states:Believing contrary to what is known and well-known from the Prophet (pbuh) is called bid'ah.It is established that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) warned believers about the discord that would arise after his death. All works titled "Sahih" (authentic), "Sunan" (authentic), and "musnad" (musnad) contain sections titled "Kitabu'l-Fitan." Those who interpreted certain texts according to their own desires and whims began an armed struggle during the caliphate of Abu Bakr (ra).

In order to understand the issue more clearly; let us try to define the group that follows the path of the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) and his Companions (Ahl as-Sunnah wal Jama’ah). According to the definition of Saadeddin at-Teftazani (rha); “Ahl as-Sunnah wal Jama’ah means the path of our Prophet (pbuh) and those who follow his illuminated path, the path of his Companions. Ahl as-Sunnah: These are the words, deeds and agreements that are the path and identity of our Prophet (pbuh). Wal Jama’ah includes the Companions, the Tabi’un, the Taba’u Tabi’un and those who came after them and who follow them.” In the book of Al-Jawabu Shafi; "What is meant by Ahl al-Sunnah wa'l Jama'ah is those who have agreed on the Book and the Sunnah, who have avoided disagreement and division, and who have embraced the evidence that comes from the Book and the Sunnah, not the reason that causes conflict and argument in the religion of Allah." (41)

The term "Ahl al-Sunnah wa'l-Jama'ah" means "those who adhere to the Sunnah and Jama'ah, the community of the Sunnah and Jama'ah." Sunnah, meaning "the way followed by the Messenger of Allah and his caliphs in living and implementing Islam", has been combined with "Jama'ah" meaning community and majority, and has become the title of the true representatives of Islam. (42)

Ahl-i Sunnah wal Jama'ah, the understanding and life of the Holy Qur'an, the Sahih Sunnah, the Tabi'un, the Atba'ut-Tabi'in and the majority of the Muslims who came after them, are "those who learned the meanings of the Holy Qur'an and the Hadith from the Companions of the Noble Prophet. They did not say anything on their own. Because they followed the path of the Companions of the Noble Prophet, they are called Ahl-i Sunnah wal Jama'ah." (43)

Those who follow the path of the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) and the Rashidun Caliphs are called “Ahl-i Sunnah wa’l Jama’ah”. Its common usage in Türkiye is “Ahl-i Sunnah wa’l Jama’at” or “Ahl-i Sunnah.” (44) “Ahl-i Sunnah: Those who adhere to the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet and do not deviate from the right path.” (45) “Ahl-i Sunnah, as its name suggests, is a name given to those who follow the Sunnah of the Prophet (pbuh) and their path.” (46) “Ahl al-Sunnah wa'l-Jama'ah is the name and attribute given to the "mass" that represents Islam and constitutes the majority of Muslims after the three generations mentioned, limiting itself to the understanding and life of the Holy Quran, the Sahih Sunnah, the Companions of the Prophet, the Tabi'un, the Atbeut-Tabi'un and the majority of the later Muslims, scientific facts, the perceptions of sound sense organs, and sound reason.” (47)

Therefore, the term "Ahl al-Sunnah wa'l-Jama'ah" constitutes the essence of the monotheistic movement. The term "Ahl al-Sunnah wa'l-Jama'ah" is a direct manifestation of the creed of monotheism in real life. The term "Ahl al-Sunnah wa'l-Jama'ah" falls within the boundaries of the creed of monotheism in terms of education and training. On this subject, Gümüşhanevi (rha) says: "It is obligatory to learn the sciences that are obligatory without delay. These sciences are: faith, things that remove faith, things that cause disbelief, and the views of the Ahl al-Sunnah wa'l-Jama'ah school of thought." (48)

Therefore, the monotheistic movement is obligated to learn the nature of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah. According to Islamic scholars, "Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah" is a name given to everyone who adheres to the Sunnah, the path of the Prophet (peace be upon him), and who follows the Sahaba, a community. (49) That is, Ahlus-Sunnah wa'l-Jama'ah is a name given to the believers who follow the Messenger of Allah (saw) and his Noble Companions step by step. Those who do not follow the Messenger of Allah (saw) have no connection with Ahlus-Sunnah wa'l-Jama'ah. Ahlus-Sunnah is the companions of the Messenger of Allah's Sunnah. That is, they are those who make arguments based on the Sunnah. By Jama'ah, we mean the community of the Messenger of Allah. These are the Companions and the Followers. These are the Najiye Group. (50)

The term “Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l-Jama’ah” is used to distinguish between schools of belief, not schools of practice. The Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l-Jama’ah is a single school of belief. The Ash’ari and Maturidis are the Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l-Jama’ah.” (51) Yes, “Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l-Jama’ah” is a symbol of a distinction and separation in belief. Allah (swt) says in the Holy Qur’an, our immutable program of life:You have nothing to do with those who have divided their religion into sects.(52) Our eternal leader, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), also says:The Children of Israel split into seventy-two sects. My community will split into seventy-three sects. All of them, except one, will go to Hell. Thereupon, the Noble Companions asked, "Which is that exceptional group, O Messenger of Allah?" The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: "It is the COMMUNITY that follows my path and the path of my Companions." he said." (53) If you pay attention, the term "sect" is used both in the Holy Quran and in the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) to express those who are completely separated from each other and have different beliefs.

Some circles, because they cannot grasp the subtlety between sect and madhhab, introduce false interpretations. (54) See, Ibn Kathir (may Allah have mercy on him) says on this subject: “The people of the religions before you fell into disagreement among themselves and became divided because of false issues. Just like them, this Ummah of ours (Ummah of Muhammad) also split into sects (groups and groups). All of these sects are heresy. However, there is only one exception. That is the Ahl al-Sunnah wa'l-Jama'ah. AHL al-Sunnah wa'l-Jama'ah is the one who follows the Book of Allah (swt), the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (pbuh), the first generation of the Companions, the Tabi'un and the first and last Imams of the Muslims.” (55) He is not one who abandons the Quran, the Sunnah, and the Noble Companions and turns to other things and follows them. It is beneficial to know this truth: Although the Ahl al-Sunnah is the only school of thought in faith, it is a front of universal mercy and compassion that allows for the imitation of hundreds of schools of thought in practice. …… The condition for being a member of the Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah is to accept that jihad is an act of worship that continues until the Day of Judgment and to fight against taghuti orders…

Yes, the Ahl al-Sunnah wa'l-Jama'ah is the path of both the devout and the mujahideen. However, in the Islamic world, it is also possible to encounter those who, despite professing to be "Ahl al-Sunnah wa'l-Jama'ah" in faith, have embraced the ideologies of disbelief and advocated the separation of "religion from worldly affairs" as a result of the invasions of the arrogant. These individuals, by supporting political forces that reject the rules revealed by Allah (swt), ensure the strengthening of "disbelief." Furthermore, lands ruled by the rules of disbelief are "Dar'ul Islam"They are not even ashamed to say it. Some of them are heedless, some are ignorant, and some are traitors. Although they live in the realm of Allah Almighty (swt) with the sustenance He has provided, they are busy spreading "Superstition" to hide this truth. Of course, they have nothing to do with the "Ahl al-Sunnah wa'l-Jama'ah" (56).

Therefore, individuals and groups who rebel against the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) and the Companions by entering into heartfelt connections and alliances with the polytheist authorities cannot be included in the scope of the term Ahl al-Sunnah wa'l-Jama'ah. Today, in the Islamic world, those who label themselves Radical and attack "Ahl al-Sunnah wa'l-Jama'ah" are those who strive to disperse travelers on the path of Allah (swt). Therefore, Ahl al-Sunnah wa'l-Jama'ah is a front of guidance, an avenue of salvation. Tawhid defined the boundaries of Ahl al-Sunnah wa'l-Jama'ah, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the Companions lived their lives, and the mujtahid scholars deduced and introduced rulings from the Quran and Sunnah for the Ummah. The duty of the Tawhid movement is to walk on the path of Ahl al-Sunnah wa'l-Jama'ah. Throughout history, those who walk on the path of Ahl al-Sunnah wa'l-Jama'ah have always been pure. Allah (swt) says:On the Day of Judgment, some faces will be white and some will be black. At that time, it will be said to those with black faces: “You disbelieved after believing! Taste the punishment for your disbelief.”(57) Abdullah b. Abbas (ra) says in his commentary on this verse: “The black-faced people mentioned in the verse are referred to as AHL-I INVENTION (BID'AH). The white-faced people are referred to as AHL-I SUNNA.” (58)

In conclusion, the intention of Ahl al-Sunnah wa'l-Jama'ah is to follow the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and the Noble Companions in word and deed. One of the distinctive and justifiable characteristics that distinguishes the Tawhid movement from other movements is that the Tawhid movement has settled on the school of Ahl al-Sunnah wa'l-Jama'ah. Those who do not settle on the Ahl al-Sunnah wa'l-Jama'ah cannot be followers of the Tawhid movement. This is because the Tawhid movement is not so treacherous in its creed as to harbor those who violate the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah and embrace division. Let us not forget that settling on the Ahl al-Sunnah wa'l-Jama'ah means remaining faithful to the creed of Tawhid. (59)

“The Sunnah means the path of the Messenger of Allah, and the Jama’ah means the path of the Companions.” (60) Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyya said: “Abdullah ibn Abbas and Jabir ibn Abdullah (ra) said: “Sirat-i Mustaqim is ISLAM.” Abdullah ibn Mas’ud and Ali ibn Abi Talib also said: “The Qur’an.” There is also a hadith on this subject from Tirmidhi and others. Sahl ibn Abdullah Sırat-i Mustaqim AHL-I SUNNA WA’L JAMA’AH‘ "It is the way of God," he says. (61)

In the new dictionary, it is defined as "Ahl al-Sunnah: The school of the Companions and their followers who undoubtedly adhere to the words and actions of our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), with definitive and reliable evidence, and those who follow them..." As is clearly understood from the definitions in the articles we have quoted so far, when the concept of "Ahl al-Sunnah wal Jama'ah" is mentioned, it means the path of Allah (swt), His Messenger (peace be upon him), his Companions, and those who follow them. If the use of the concept or creed of Ahl al-Sunnah is wrong and ugly, why do you say, "We are also Ahl al-Sunnah" when you are pressured or when you are defenseless? If this concept is beautiful and correct, why do you take sides and accuse? Or why do you not submit in the same way?
