Luqman (as); while advising his son Saran, he first focused on “Tawhid”. As a matter of fact, it is stated in the verse: “And when Luqman said to his son while advising him: “O my son!.. Do not associate partners with Allah Almighty (swt)!.. Indeed, partners are indeed a great injustice.” (Luqman: 13) The Noble Companions taught the child Tawhid as soon as he could speak. It is also known that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) warned all believers regarding this matter.

   B) Awareness of the Day of Judgment Should Be Given: In the advice of Hz. Luqman (as) to his son; right after monotheism, the consciousness of the “day of judgment” comes to the fore. Indeed, in the verse: “My son! In truth, even if the good or bad deeds you do are as small as a mustard seed, or hidden in a rock, in the sky or in the earth, Allah will bring them out (and take account of them). Because Allah is Subtle and Aware (of all things)” (Luqman: 16) is stated.

   C) Worship, Sincerity and Patience Should Be Taught: Hz. Luqman (as) taught his son worship, sincerity, enjoining good, forbidding evil and patience. This is reported as follows: “My son!.. Establish prayer!.. Enjoin what is good and forbid what is evil. Whatever befalls you (because of this command and prohibition), endure it. Because these are definitely among the matters that are prescribed.” (Luqman: 17)

He began his preaching with the “medicine” that would dry up the swamp:
"O people! Say there is no god but Allah and be saved"
That's all... Short and simple... Understandable...
Like other nations, the people addressed by the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) also knew what La ilahe illallah meant. Because they never said, "What does La ilahe illallah mean?" We do not know. It was obvious that their Prophet had asked a lot of them. The sentence was short but the meaning was long and heavy.
By obeying the call of “La ilahe illallah”, all the gods worshipped would be rejected. These gods could be made of stone or wood, or they could be the candy they ate when they were hungry. Of course, the concept of god or the understanding of god did not necessarily have to be a concrete entity. This god could be the “Self” or the “dead” from whom they sought help.

Conclusion:
1. La ilahe illallah has never been perceived as “There is no creator other than Allah.”
2. They were aware of the kind of responsibility that La ilaha illallah requires from people.
3. They were also aware that the saying “There is no god but Allah” would be reflected in practice.
4. Like other nations, they did not adopt the Word of Tawhid because they knew that they would not be able to put it into practice and therefore they did not even feel the need to say it verbally.

The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) made the same warm invitation to his uncle on his deathbed: "My uncle! Come and say there is no god but Allah."
What was expected from his uncle was; "-Okay nephew, since you want it so much, since my saying La ilahe illallah will make you very happy, here I am telling you... Now relax..." But his uncle also knew that by saying La ilahe illallah he would be wiping out his past up to that point and converting to a different religion.
Otherwise, if just saying that word was enough to enter heaven, why wouldn't he say it? And he didn't say it.
To summarize briefly; while saying “There is no god but Allah”, the concept of god has never been perceived as “creative”.
…………………

2-What Kind of Gods Do We Reject When We Say "La Ilaha Illâllah"?

Now, let's come to what kind of gods we reject when we say La ilahe illallah;
Yes… While saying La ilahe illallah, without realizing it;
We say, “There is no god other than Allah to be worshipped, to be feared, to be feared, to be relied upon, to be entreated with open hands, to answer prayers and supplications and fulfill their necessity, to seek refuge in, to establish judgment in the earth and the sky, to give rewards and punishments, and to respond to troubles.”
Perhaps we say La ilahe illallah hundreds of times a day and reject many deities that we do not name, and each time we call Allah Almighty as our witness…
There is no god but Allah;
“There is no god but You who is prayed to and who answers prayers.”
One of the attributes of divinity is “He is the one who is prayed to and answers prayers.”
We look;
“If My servants ask you about Me, I am very near. I answer the call of whoever calls upon Me.” (Al-Baqarah: 2/186)
“Your Lord said: Call on Me and I will respond to you.” (Al-Mu'min: 40/60)
Allah Almighty wants all prayers, wishes and praises to be gathered in Himself. And without accepting any intermediary. The servant and Allah… The servant will open his hands and pray, and will leave whatever troubles he has to Allah Almighty… Because that servant knows that Allah Almighty is closer to people than their jugular veins, and that He sees and hears people at all times and in all places without any curtains.

Now, if we go to a sheikh or to the grave of a “Hazrat” and open our hands and pray to him to get rid of our troubles, would we be making that sheikh or the person in the grave our god or not?

Because while Allah Almighty says that only He answers prayers, if we say, “That sheikh also answers prayers, and the ones in the grave also answer prayers,” we will have given the attribute of divinity to that sheikh or the dead. We will have acquired a new god along with Allah (swt). (Allah forbid)

Even though we do not say with our tongue that sheikh is our god, the action we do tells us about the existence of a second god… Even though we do not say it with our tongue…
Allah Almighty challenges false gods by saying, “Those you call upon besides Allah cannot create even a fly, even if they were to come together. And if a fly snatches something from them, they cannot take it back. The seeker is helpless, and so is the one sought!” (Hajj: 22/73)

“La ilahe illallah” There is no lawgiver other than Allah. He is the ruler of the heavens and the earth.
The God who created people also knows what kind of laws people will live happily on earth with. And He establishes laws that are in line with people's nature, and there will be no favoritism in the laws He establishes. All people are subject to the same laws.
“And We have sent Our Messenger with clear signs and sent down with him the Book and justice, so that mankind may stand firm with justice.” (Hadid: 57/25)
“Know that to Him belongs the power to create and to command.” (A'raf: 7/54)
He is the one in command. In other words, it is His right to decide, to determine everything such as this should be like this or not, this is good and this is sinful and wrong, this is beautiful and this is ugly, this is allowed and this is forbidden. Because He is the Creator. It is He who created the heavens and the earth. It is He who created man. And it is He who gave man a thinking mind, perceiving senses and countless blessings. And naturally, it is His right to make laws.[4]
We are currently faced with two separate laws: divine law and human law. Before comparing these two separate laws, let us first look at the qualifications that a law-making authority must have.

Qualities of Being a God

“Say: Are you more knowledgeable or Allah?” (Baqarah: 2/140)
“The judgment belongs to Allah alone. He has commanded that you should not worship anyone but Him.” (Yusuf: 12/40)
“The judgment is His, and to Him you will be returned.” (Al-Qasas: 28/88)
“Or do they seek the rule of ignorance? And who is better in authority than Allah for a good people?” (Al-Maidah: 5/50)
We can now move on to the comparison of the divine system/law and the human system/law. Let's see whether the divine law or the human system appeals better to human nature.
The divine system wants the person to live morally in society and gives advice/commands that are in line with his nature and tells that person;
a) “… and avoid lying” (Hajj: 22/30) and again, to protect one’s property, for the safety of property, to prevent theft;
b) He says, “O you who believe, do not consume your wealth among yourselves by false means.” (Nisa: 4/29)
He explains the evil of gambling, a satanic game that the human system has allowed in many areas and even encouraged in order to prevent the breakup of homes, and then prohibits it.
c) “O you who believe, wine, gambling, idols and divining arrows are among the unclean works of Satan. So avoid them that you may be successful.” (Al-Maidah: 5/90)
“Certainly, Satan wants to create enmity and hatred among you through intoxicants and gambling, and to hinder you from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer. So will you not desist?” (Al-Maidah: 5/91)
Again, the divine system prohibits alcohol as stated in the previous verse because it knows that it is against human nature, that it is disharmonious, that it disrupts peace, that it destroys homes and that it causes many harms.
The divine system orders people not to get used to laziness and not to make unjust gains. Most of us are witnesses that many hands that have reached out for interest have not been able to take their hands, homes have gone out, bankruptcies have started, and suicide cases due to debt have increased. Here again, the divine system considers the material and spiritual aspects of the person;
He forbids interest by saying, “Any interest you give to increase people’s wealth will not increase in the sight of Allah.” (Ar-Rum: 30/39)
Again, the divine system, namely Islam, considers the honor of the individual and bans all channels that lead the individual to prostitution so that he can live honorably and morally in society.
“And do not approach adultery. It is indeed a shameful and evil way.” (Isra: 17/32)
“Tell the believing men to lower their gaze and guard their private parts; this is purer for them.”
“And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their private parts and not to display their adornment except what is visible…” (An-Nur: 24/30-31)

While the divine system gives such beautiful advice and commands, considering the honor of people, the human system does the exact opposite and prepares programs that will put aside the honor of the individual and society.
They open houses of adultery to encourage people to commit physical adultery by corrupting morality through beauty contests, product promotions in advertisements, TV series, immoral films, and filthy press and publications. The prohibitions of the divine system are permissible in the human system.
To summarize briefly;
• Alcohol is forbidden in the divine system – Alcohol is allowed in the human system • Gambling is forbidden in the divine system – Gambling is allowed in the human system
• Adultery is forbidden in the divine system - Adultery is allowed in the human system • Interest is forbidden in the divine system - Interest is allowed in the human system
• The divine system forbids bribery - The human system encourages bribery.
• There is justice in the divine system. – In human systems, those who are powerful and have money win.
• The divine system gives advice by considering the person's afterlife. Spirituality is predominant. – In the human system, it is completely worldly. Afterlife is not a topic of discussion.
– The human system is variable. Yesterday’s penal code can be very funny today, so it is constantly changing and its addressee is limited.
After briefly getting to know the divine system and the human system, we can now easily say the following;
The deity of a person who adopts the divine system is Allah; the deity of a person who adopts the human system is the one who prepares the laws and the system.
Now;
A person who says La ilahe illallah rejects and does not accept all human systems. By saying La ilahe illallah, he says that only Allah is the ruler in the earth and the sky. He says that Allah determines the laws and He has stated this in the Quran and Sunnah. Again, a person who says La ilahe illallah adopts the religion of Islam. By adopting the religion of Islam, he naturally accepts the divine laws.
In conclusion;
Even if a person who adopts the human system says La ilahe illallah a million times a day, prays a million rakats, goes on the pilgrimage every year, builds hundreds of mosques and recites the Quran, sacrifices animals and has them sacrificed, attends every funeral, fasts for 365 days, kisses the Quran and puts it on his head a thousand times a day; saying La ilahe illallah is of no benefit to that person. Because that person has adopted a second god. Even if he does not call it god.
Allah Almighty does not accept a second god. He states in various chapters of the Quran that He will never forgive anyone who takes a second god for himself.

“Verily, Allah does not forgive that partners be associated with Him. He forgives anything other than that to whom He wills. Whoever associates others with Allah has surely fabricated a great sin.” (An-Nisa: 4/48)
Adopting a second god along with Allah (swt) means associating partners with Allah (shirk). Of course, this is both a slander and a great insult to Allah Almighty.

Why is associating partners with Allah not forgiven, but other sins are forgiven?[5]

– Let's ask again;
– Who created humans from nothing? – Allah (swt) – Who gave humans eyes, ears, intelligence and gender? – Allah (swt)
– Who sends down rain from the sky for the sustenance of mankind? – Allah (swt)
Who produced fruits and vegetables from the earth for the sustenance of mankind? - Allah (swt)
Why did Allah (swt) create the Sun so that people could work and stay warm?
Who created the animals whose meat can be eaten for human nutrition; the mule, donkey, horse and camel for carrying loads? - Allah (swt)
Who turned the sea into a refrigerator so that we can eat fresh fish? – Allah (swt)
Who hid the sun so that we could rest at night? – Allah (swt)
Who has equipped humans with “feelings”[6] so that they can live comfortably? – Allah (swt)
Who gave people “knowledge”? – Allah (swt) Who knows the nature of people best? – Allah (swt)
Wouldn't it be the greatest slander and injustice[7] against Allah (swt) to choose a second partner to Allah Almighty, who has blessed people with such wonderful blessings?

* “There is no god but Allah” should never be perceived as “There is no creator but Allah.”
* Just saying the Kalima Shahada with the tongue is the key to Paradise without any teeth. A key without teeth does not open any door. In order to enter Paradise with the Kalima Shahada, the conditions of the Kalima Shahada must be fulfilled.[8]
* When the Kalima-i Shahada is fulfilled and its conditions are met, the key becomes a “cog”. Then the key of Kalima-i Tawhid opens the door to heaven.

Conditions of the Kalima Tawhid:

“Whoever dies knowing the meaning of La ilahe illallah will enter Paradise.” [Muslim, Iman: 10.]

Knowledge without consciousness is useless. A citizen who does not put his “swimming” knowledge into practice drowns. A patient who does not use the medicine he takes falls into a difficult situation. A passenger who does not board the plane despite having a ticket cannot go where he wants to go.
So how does one practice this word of monotheism?
It is possible to gather the practice of the word tawhid under one heading. To be a servant of Allah (swt) altogether…
– To be a servant of Allah (cc) in every field. – To trust and rely only on Him. – To adopt and live by His advice, commands and prohibitions. – Not to associate anything with Him. – To believe only in His sovereignty…

          Situations That Violate the Word of Tawhid

– After believing that sovereignty belongs to Allah, you should not commit any sin that Allah has declared forbidden;
By saying, “Brother, that was back then. Now times have changed…” seeing it as halal distances the person from the word of tawhid.
– Again, making something that Allah Almighty has declared halal haram for oneself or for others…
– To impose an additional rule on the rules that Allah has established. – To be pleased and pleased with a law other than the laws of Allah.
– One of the things that invalidates La ilahe illallah is to make friends with the enemies of Allah.

Tolerating and accepting things that Allah is definitely not pleased with, and disliking what He is pleased with, distances one from the Kalima ash-Shahada and brings one closer to Hell:

  Today, we see Qurans imprisoned on the walls of many houses.
It is a book that we are responsible for twenty-four hours a day, and we will read and live by understanding how it will give us a message (If we cannot understand its Arabic; that is, if we do not know Arabic, we will definitely read its translation, because if we do not obtain the prescribed medicines from the pharmacy, even if we read the prescription hundreds of times a day or have it read, it will never heal our wounds. Or if we do not read the user manual and use the medicine, we will be pushing ourselves into the arms of death with our own hands.)

Niçin Peygamberlerin Kendi Kavimlerine Davet Ettiği İlk Kavram Kelime-i Tevhid idi?
