Ve aleykum selam ve ahmetullah Önder brother… My esteemed brother, first let’s give the definitions about the soul and then try to answer your question…
    NEFS (Soul)
Allah Almighty declared in the Holy Quran:
Every soul will taste death. (Surah Al-i Imran: 185)
    2. The human being himself, person, body.
When a person says “I”, he is showing his ego. (Imam Rabbani)
    3. Truth, essence, source, essence. Evil, the force of evil in humans and jinn. The source of desires that do not comply with the sharia, that is, religion. This is also called the self-commanding soul.
Allah Almighty states in the Holy Quran:
The place of a person who fears the presence of Allah and restrains his soul from (illegitimate) selfish desires (lust and wishes) is surely Paradise. (Surah An-Naziat: 40)
Be hostile to your soul, for it is my enemy. (Hadith-i qudsî - Letters of Rabbani)
The sign of intelligence is to prevail and control the soul and to prepare what is necessary after death. The sign of stupidity is to obey the soul and expect forgiveness and mercy from Allah. (Hadith-i Sharif-Berîka)
He who honors his soul destroys his religion. He who humiliates his soul honors his religion. (Mujahid bin Cebr)
The creation of the soul is for people to live, reproduce and work for the world. Allah Almighty created the soul for many such benefits. However, He also created intelligence in people so that they can show mercy and compassion to all people, restrain their desires, control them and prevent their harm. (Sharafeddin Yahya Munirî)
To be free from following the ego is the greatest of worldly blessings, because the ego is the greatest of the veils between Allah Almighty and His servant. (Abu Bakr Tamistani)
It is more difficult for the soul to avoid sins than to worship. Therefore, it is more rewarding to avoid sins. (Imam-i Rabbani)
"O my Lord! Do not let my soul dominate me! Do not leave me helpless and alone against it! My soul does not pity me. Have mercy on me!"
O my soul! You never forget your desires. But you are never willing to perform the duties of worship. O my soul! You are never afraid of what will happen to you on the Day of Judgment when you will be called to account. You prefer the temporary to the eternal and endless blessings.
Oh my soul! You want to find comfort in the hereafter without any deeds or work. You pursue your desires and wishes for a long time and you keep postponing repentance.” (Awn bin Abdullah)
He who wants to walk on the path of Allah with his ego has made a mistake in his first step. If he abandons his ego and sets out sincerely, thinking of Allah's pleasure in everything, Allah will introduce him to the guide that will bring him to Himself. (Ali Muzeyyen)
The ego is the enemy. It is not wise to act with the word enemy. (Ali Hafiz)
The most stupid of all creatures is the soul. Because it always wants things that are against itself. (Seyyid Abdulhakim Arvâsî)
Islamic scholars have explained the verse, “Have you seen the one who takes his own self as his god?” as follows:
"Have you seen the one who has taken his own desires as his god? So will you be his guardian (while your duty is only to convey the message)?" (Furqan, 43)

Imam Qurtubi explained this verse as follows:
With the command, “Have you seen the one who took his own desires as his god?” Allah the Almighty informs His prophet that it is a surprising situation that they maintain polytheism in their hearts and insist on it. However, any one of them could turn to a stone and worship it without any proof.
Al-Kalbi and others said: If any of the Arabs loved something with his passion and lust and became attached to it, he would worship that other than Allah. If he found something better than Allah, he would abandon the first and worship the better one.
Accordingly, the command means; “Have you seen anyone who takes his god according to his whims and desires?”
Ibn Abbas said: Hawa is a god that is worshipped other than Allah, then he recited this verse.
It has also been said that the commandment “The one who takes his own whims and desires as his god” means the one who obeys his own whims and desires (the desires and wishes of the soul). According to a narration from al-Hasan, it has been explained that he is the one who follows whatever he loves, and the meaning is the same.
“Will you be the representative of that person?” Will you be the one who will protect him and be his guarantor until he returns to faith and is saved from this corruption? In other words, guidance and deviation are not left to your will. Your duty is only to convey the message. This statement also rejects the opinions of the Qadariyya. (Imam Qurtubi, al-Jami'u li-Ahkami'l-Kur'an, Buruç Publications: 12/554-555)
Abu Muhammad explained it as follows:
“O Muhammad (PBUH), do you not see the one who worships his lustful desires and takes them as his god? Would you protect him in this state? Would you be his representative? Or do you think that most of them hear the verses recited to them and ponder over the signs showing Allah? No, they are like animals who do not think or comprehend. In fact, they are even more astray than animals in their path. Animals know their pastures and obey their masters. But these disbelievers do not obey their Lord and are not grateful for the favors He has given them. On the contrary, they are ungrateful.” (Abu Ja'far Muhammad b. Jarir et-Tabari, Taberi Tafsiri, Hisar Publishing House: 6/186)
From time to time, every person follows his ego and fulfills its desires, tends to sin or commits sins. However, if the servant knows his mistake, accepts it and repents, God Almighty forgives his servant and accepts his repentance. As a matter of fact, it is stated in the verse, “Except those who repent, believe and do righteous deeds: they will enter Paradise without being wronged.” (Maryam, 60)
Our Prophet also says in his hadiths:
“Every human being makes many mistakes. The best of those who make mistakes are those who repent (turn back from their mistakes regretfully).” (Tirmidhi)
The meaning of the phrase "Have you seen those who have taken their souls as gods?" in the verse is explained by scholars in commentaries as people who do not accept their faults, do everything their souls say, have become pharaohs, have made the desires and wishes of their souls a form of worship, and the unbelievers who worshipped idols and stones during the Age of Ignorance. Again, the polytheists who persistently followed the path of disbelief despite the fact that Allah Almighty sent prophets are also mentioned in this verse and are stated in the verse as "those who associate partners with Allah, who take their souls as gods."
Otherwise, those who see the faults of their souls, know their souls to be flawed, and repent will be forgiven with Allah’s permission. They will be honored with the good news in the hadith, “The one who repents will be as if he had not committed a sin.” (Berîka).
These are the things that are said about the soul. If we pay attention, we see that the person who constantly pursues his soul and desires has taken his soul as his god.
As a result, we can say the following: It is not possible for a person to say, “I believe but my soul does not believe.” Faith is a confirmation with the heart and a confession with the tongue. If his heart confirms the faith and his tongue confirms the faith, then this person is a Muslim. If he is defeated by his soul and indulges in forbidden things despite believing, this is due to the weakness of his faith. If he thinks that the forbidden is a sin while committing a forbidden thing and gets upset, if he regrets what he has done, then this person is still a sinful Muslim… If he does not feel sorry at all for the sins he has committed, if he does not feel regret at all, then he is a polytheist because he sees the forbidden things as permissible, because he accepts the forbidden things as permissible… Faith is gone. He will go to hell forever… May Allah swt protect you…
