And peace be upon you, brother, and peace be upon you, brother…
THE DECISION OF THE CONGREGATION: Molla Husrev mentions the following ruling: “Congregation is a sunnah-i muakkadah for men. According to another opinion, it is also a fard action. Women’s congregation is definitely disliked.”(217) In Fatawa-i Hindiyya: “Congregation is a sunnah-i muakkadah. The majority of our scholars have said that congregation is indeed obligatory. In Beda’i, it is stated that “Congregation is obligatory for men who are sane, have reached puberty and are able to perform congregational prayers.” If a person cannot attend the congregation, he should gather his family and perform the prayer with them.”(218) As it is known, congregation is a must in Friday and Eid prayers. Because these prayers cannot be performed individually. Performing a voluntary prayer in congregation by calling each other is disliked.(219)

487 It is known that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: “A state that you dislike (dislike) in the congregation is better than a state that you like in separation. There is mercy in the congregation and punishment in separation.”(220) Performing prayers in congregation was encouraged by the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) himself. Indeed, it is stated in a Hadith: “The prayer that a man performs in congregation is twenty-five times more virtuous than the prayer he performs alone.”(221) Ibn-i Abidin said: “The opinion preferred by our scholars is that the congregation is obligatory. The owner of the river said: “This opinion is the most just and the strongest of all opinions. Therefore, the testimony of a person who leaves the congregation by belittling or not caring is not accepted in the work called ecnas.” But if he abandons it by mistake or through interpretation, for example: if the Imam follows his whims and desires or does not follow the school of thought of the congregation, we accept it.” (222)

My dear brother, of course, it is more virtuous to perform prayers in congregation. IT IS PROVEN IN HADITH that prayers performed in congregation earn 25-27 degrees more reward than prayers performed individually. Therefore, the importance of the congregation is very great. In fact, some sects have deemed it FARD to perform the five daily prayers in congregation. According to us (HANAFI SCHOOL), there are scholars who say that performing the five daily prayers in congregation is obligatory. However, in our catechisms, it is stated as a DECISION; it is a strong sunnah… These rulings are valid in an Islamic society with a CALIPH. Today, the situation is a little different. There is a hesitation as to whether the people who are responsible for leading prayers have the qualification of being an IMAM or not. We cannot say this for all prayer officers, but there is a situation that is witnessed as follows: Some of the prayer officers do not perform prayers. In such cases, it is difficult to find a pious and righteous imam.
