WHAT IS DAR'N-NEDWAH?

"In the place right across from the Kaaba parliament there was, so «Darü'n-Nedve». «Maqam-i Hanafi» It was also located here. In other words, during the Ottoman Empire before the Saudis, the four imams of the school of thought, namely Hanafi, Shafi'i, Maliki and Hanbali, had their stations on the four sides of the Kaaba. As the number of pilgrims increased over time, these stations were demolished to make the circumambulation easier. Historians say that where the Makam-ı Hanafi is, Daru'n-NedveThey state that .

      Daru'n-Nedve, was the parliament of the Mecca City State. When important matters occurred, they gathered here and held general consultations. This house had other uses as well. If a caravan came to Mecca from outside,  Darü'n-Nedve'and the Meccans would come and talk to them and do business with them.

    At night, whether strangers or Meccans, Daru'n-NedveThey would gather in and talk there, just like they do in clubs today. Even «Darü'n-Nedve» It was also the theater of the city. Because historians say that sometimes someone would stand up and tell stories here. These were not real stories, but fairy tales. The Holy Quran also mentions this. "And you were in a state of delirium at night (in congregation and around the House)" (Surah Ash-Shu'ara, 67). Because the verse in question is «Samir», means someone who tells stories at night, the second word is «Deportation» If there was a person, they would talk about indecent prostitution and things that would offend good taste, and this situation bothered some people then, as it does today.

       Daru'n-NedveAnother ceremony held in was: When any girl reaches puberty Daru'n-NedveHe was brought to and given a new dress. This meant:. "This girl has reached puberty now. Whoever wants to marry her can do so."  This ceremony was taking place in front of everyone's eyes.

    The following incident is narrated regarding the Prophet Muhammad. After Hazrat Khadija bought Zayd b. Haritha as a slave and gave him to the Prophet as a gift, Zayd's father, Haritha, came to Mecca and learned that the Prophet had his son and wanted to buy him.

     When the Prophet learned what had happened to Zayd, that he had been stolen and sold and that he was the son of a great tribal leader, he was saddened and wanted to do them a favor.

      The Prophet said to Harith: «Instead of taking money from you in return for Zayd, let us bring Zayd and ask him. If he wants to come with you, let him come without payment, it is his freedom. If he does not want to come, let him do whatever he wants». Zayd is brought and when asked he recognizes his father, "This is my father" He says to Hz. Prophet Zayd: “Do you want to go with your father?” said. Zayd; "No" he said and added. "I have seen such kindness in you that it made me choose you over my father, that is why I would rather be a slave with you than a chief in my tribe."   Thereupon his father returned to his tribe, saddened but confident that his son had been treated well.

      This answer of Zayd touched the Prophet himself very much. He took Zayd by the hand, took him in front of the Kaaba and announced in front of everyone that he had set him free and adopted him. This last sentence concerns our subject. In this incident, in addition to the features we have mentioned so far, we see slaves being set free and children being adopted in front of the Kaaba.

      When Hz. Muhammad received the duty of prophethood, he declared this and said to worship the one God and not to worship idols that neither good nor evil came from their hands. However, as is known, the Muslims were immediately subjected to cruelty and torture; the Muslims were forbidden from worshipping in front of the Kaaba by the Meccan polytheists. In the beginning, the Hz. Prophet and the Muslims would go to the Kaaba twice a day (morning and afternoon) and perform their worship. After the Miraj, prayers began to be performed five times a day.

   When the oppression of the Meccans forbade Muslims to pray in front of the Kaaba, the Prophet started to pray in the house of Erkam, one of his companions. Erkam's house was close to the Kaaba, on Mount Safa. When Hz. Omar accepted Islam, he met the Prophet in this house." Prof. İ. Süreyya SIRMA

 In Mecca of that day   “Daru'n-Nedve”  The situation of today's parliaments was the same as the meeting place called. Because in Mecca at that time, a democratic government was in power... The age to enter the Assembly called Daru'n-Nedeve was 40! Each tribe had a chief (taghut). These chiefs, namely the deputies, represented their tribes... This parliament was responsible for the administration of the people... This assembly passed all the laws... Even the discussions-sessions on killing the Prophet (pbuh), as you all know, were decided in this assembly... 

Our Prophet (pbuh) had never set foot in this assembly in his lifetime. Against all the proposals of the polytheists of that day, the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) only  “LA ILAHA ILLALLAH”  He was shouting his case... He was inviting all the polytheists to the One Allah (swt)... He was even offered the kingdom. But the lord of the universe did not look at any of these offers. If today's Muslims only knew what they were rejecting when they said "La ilahe" and what they were accepting when they said "Illallah", there would be no problem!   

  “Daru'n-Nedve”  We learned about the city parliament and its function… So where did the Muslims organize, carry out their mission of preaching, spread Islam and attain the Islamic state of Medina? Have these questions ever bothered you, have they ever kept you awake? Yes, what did the Muslims do under the leadership of our Master, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)? Is there no information about this in the biography books? Yes, there is, of course there is… The name of the assembly where the Muslims withdraw and do their work is  “Daru’l-Erkam”Muslims were also making their decisions in this assembly under the leadership of the Prophet Muhammad… There are very important concepts that Muslims of the 21st century have lost. Here are the main concepts that have been lost:   “Daru’l-Erkam”  The concept of "the concept of ' ...
